I'm really glad to find a new family to love me!!!

NUGGET
(adopted September '07)
Nugget is a young Chihuahua mixed breed that we were all in love with! No one could walk by Nugget's kennel without stopping to get a few kisses.... Nugget has so much love to give! He is a happy go lucky little dog who just loves his belly rubs or to jump in your arms to say hello. He was enrolled in K9 Basics obedience classes and did great!

MARISSA
If you are in the market for a best friend who will make you happy to wake up each day, then Marissa may be your new partner.  Soon this American Pit Bull Terrier is graduating from school with an advanced degree in obedience, and her lucky adopter will receive free training for life with her placement. Now just 2 ½ years old, and a healthy 75 pounds, it is hard to believe her condition just 6 months ago. A throwaway Mom, used only to produce litters of pups, she arrived in the shelter scared and emaciated. . .literally skin and bones. Her only wish, then and now, is to love and be loved in return! Now spayed, up to date on shots, heart worm negative and on preventative, Marissa performs her happy dance for all her visitors! One of her many nicknames is Happy Feet, and she is beautiful, intelligent and eager to please.

Here are a few specifics from Marissa's resume. Things I love: cozy blankets, people who tell me I am beautiful (they do that a lot), and GIVING KISSES. My best features: my gorgeous light green eyes and welcoming smile. Turn offs: Other dogs and being alone at night. Favorite pastimes: Long walks, belly rubs, getting petted, GIVING KISSES. Biggest misconception about me: that I am mean because of my size and breed. Hopes and dreams: my own special family to love me, cuddles, watch TV with me and play with my very own toys. A special person or persons who will give me the home I've never had and have only heard about!
AUSTIN
Hello! My name is Austin. Please take a moment to read my story. I am a yellow lab mix with a cute pink nose and I'm almost 11 years old. I know I don't look like a senior and I'm actually in great shape and very spry! That's what all my friends say! Some of my favorite things to do are going for walks, being brushed, having my belly rubbed and treats! Oh, I love toys too! When I was about a year old I was turned into a no kill shelter. I lived there for the past 9 years and not adopted out. But I have finally been turned over to some friends at another rescue who have known me a long time and who believe I'm a good dog who deserves a second chance. I have sat in a cement kennel for so long, all I ask for is a cozy bed and someone to love me. I am calm and quiet and do not want for much. I don't jump up and I'm wonderful company. I still have a lot of years to be a loyal and best friend. I will take walks with you, go for rides in the car with my nose out the window, lay by your feet while you read and greet you every day with my sweet doggy smile when you come home. Will you spend my golden years with me? Because I have sent most of my life alone, my friends ask that I be adopted to an all adult home, no kids please. I'm not sure if I like kitties yet but I do know I don't like dogs, so I'd have to be the only one, the star of the show! I am neutered and up to date on my shots. If you would like to hear more of my story, please call my friend Jennifer at 856-207-7818.

We call her our little body builder. Lacey, like all of the dogs in our rescue is working towards graduating advanced obedience classes with K9 Basics Dog Training. The trainers all love this girl!! She’s the perfect size & trained already, what more could you ask for! You will fall in love the minute you meet this sweet little girl! Will you be the lucky person who gives her a forever home? Her adoption fee includes her training program. Please call 856-952-1978 or email lilospromise@comcast.net if you are interested in meeting Lacey – she’ll be waiting!
